Operation of the proposed solution
An enhanced compressive sensing-based algorithm has been developed for the estimation of Taylor–Fourier coefficients in a multifrequency dynamic phasor model. The algorithm provides high accuracy in harmonic and interharmonic phasor measurement, and can also operate as a standard phasor measurement unit (PMU). By combining multiple measurement functions into a single device, it opens the way for a new generation of integrated monitoring, measurement and diagnostic instruments for distribution networks.
Open challenges
- 1 Developing fault detection and analysis capabilities compliant with the test conditions specified by EN 50160
- 2 Meeting stringent latency and reporting rate requirements while simultaneously providing extended diagnostic functions
